CKL this week.....Sept 19, 2011

Centennial Park

Great to see the participation numbers going up at Centennial Park. This Wednesday, Sept 21 ROGERS TELEVISION will be joining us for the race night, so come out and get on television. We thank Rogers for coming to cover the CKL.

Innisfil

Thursday, Sept 22, will be the final race of the year on the night course under the lights. Racing starts at 7:30pm. Practice starts at 4:00 pm. NOTE; WE WILL RUN THE CADETS AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE SO THEY CAN GET HOME EARLY FOR SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY.

Saturday September 24^th will be the day to choose lease karts for next year. There will be a separate newsletter going out with all the lease kart information for the new series next year.

CKL TO INTRODUCE 'PRO SERIES' IN 2012......ALL INFORMATION HERE.....

The Canadian Karting League will introduce a 'Pro Series' division for 2012 at Innisfil Indy Karting. It is a re-work of the current lease kart series with some exciting new additions to the series. There will be prizes, and plenty of competition.

Eligibility:

Any current, past or new CKL member -- with experience -- is eligible to compete in the Pro Series. Classes are Cadet, Junior, Senior/Masters.

Equipment:

All cadets will run a 5.5 Honda -- unrestricted -- and will have a spec gear and weight. All Junior, Senior Masters classes will run unrestricted 6.5 Honda and have a spec gear and weight.

Kart options:

As mentioned before, you can buy a kart from Tony and have it fitted with the correct engine and gear and it is eligible. The CKL also has a lease program (details below) that we hope that you would consider.

Prizes:

For those of you using CKL lease karts, the prizes are as follows.

1^st place all divisions -- The kart you leased becomes yours, yes, a free kart

2^nd place all divisions - $500 off lease kart price

3^rd place all divisions - $250 off lease kart price

(THESE PRIZES ARE FOR CKL LEASE KART CUSTOMERS ONLY)

Should Franczak renew FV1200 offer for 2012, that prize is available to any CKL member.

Additional Prizes for all drivers will be announced soon......

Series format

Same as regular arrive-and-drive format......practice, two heats and a final. There will be between 15 and 18 pro series races in 2012, your top 10 finishes will count.

ALL PRO SERIES KARTS MUST BE STORED AT INNISFIL INDY FOR THE DURATION OF THE 2012 SEASON.

2012 CKL LEASE KART PROGRAM FOR PRO SERIES

In an effort to help our drivers move up, we have come up with an exciting offer to help out our members. The 2012 lease kart program is to compete in the 2012 Pro Series.

The lease kart program is now $1,000 (due at kart selection). You can choose any CKL kart as your pro series kart for 2012.

KART SELECTION WILL BE ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24^TH STARTING AT 3:00PM. IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT BE SURE TO EMAIL ME OR CALL ON BEFORE SATURDAY MORNING....

KART SELECTION WILL BE BY REGULAR POINT SERIES TOTALS FROM 2011 AFTER THURSDAY NIGHT FINAL RACE....SEE KIM FOR POINT TOTALS......FOR EXAMPLE CADET REGULAR SEASON CHAMPION (BEFORE TRACK FINALS) WILL HAVE THE OPTION TO PICK FIRST, THEN SECOND PLACE AND SO ON... SAME FOR JUNIOR, SENIOR AND MASTERS.

Once you have selected your kart, the CKL will refresh the kart over the winter replacing hyme joints, bearings, belts/chains and anything else mechanical that needs to be done. Your Pro series kart will be ready to go for the first practice in the spring.

During the winter months, drivers are able to take the body work of their pro series kart home if you want to paint it or add decals, sponsor names etc.....

CKL will tailor fit each pro series kart to its driver. CKL will provide lead weight -- if needed - for CKL pro series drivers.

STORAGE:

Because of the extra space needed to store pro series karts, the CKL will provide a designated container storage area for pro series karts only. The Innisfil Indy has given us a great deal on storage space for you to store your kart, or CKL lease pro series kart.

Storage fee: $29.16/per month for 12 months.

Parts:

Pro series drivers are responsible for crash damage. As you know, we try very hard to repair any parts, but sometimes parts just can't be saved. Parts are available from Tony at Innisfil Indy or from the CKL trailer.

Maintenance:

CKL mechanics are available to aid in servicing pro series karts. We also will have a mechanics course in the spring for parents/friends who would like to learn the maintenance side of karting. If you are comfortable with mechanics we still urge you attend the training day for mechanics.

Additional rules for Pro Series:

No new tires. Used tires will be marked and they are available to pro series drivers, as long as we don't have to pay for them, you won't be responsible for paying for them. We always have had plenty of used tires from club and regional events to choose from.

PRACTICE

YOUR KART WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PRACTICE AT ANY TIME THE INNISFIL INDY IS OPEN IN 2012 EXCEPT DURING CLUB EVENTS OR CORPORATE DAYS.

WE ARE WORKING WITH INNISFIL INDY TO COME UP WITH A 'DAY RATE' FOR THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO GET MORE PRACTICE TIME IN......STAY TUNED.
